  • ESS Electronic Speed Switches

PROTECT YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH TORQ SPEED SWITCH UNDERSPEED AND OVERSPEED MODELS

The TORQ Speedetex® ESS Electronic Speed Switch is a NEMA 4 model used in bulk material handling/processing systems to monitor speeds of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, rotary feeder shafts, rotating drums and other types of rotating machinery to protect elevators, feeders and conveyors from speed related damage resulting from broken belts, overloads, or belt slippages.

  • Speedetex® MSS Mechanical Speed Switches

PROTECT YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH TORQ SPEED SWITCH UNDERSPEED OR OVERSPEED MODELS

The TORQ Speedetex® MSS Mechanical Speed Switch is a NEMA 4 model used in bulk material handling/processing systems to monitor speeds of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, rotary feeder shafts, rotating drums and other types of rotating machinery to protect elevators, feeders and conveyors from speed related damage resulting from broken belts, overloads, or belt slippages.

The MSS mechanical speed switch activates at an RPM specified by the user. Each unit is designed with a spring and weight combination to detect either underspeed or overspeed. Output is a hard contact closure - SPNO or SPNC as specified by the user.

  • Speedetex® ZSS Zero Speed Switches

PROTECT YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH TORQ SPEED SWITCH ZERO SPEED MODELS

For Zero Speed applications choose the ESS model with the configuration that matches your application. Then choose your desired minimum speed value. Typical definitions of Zero Speed are anything less than one (1) RPM. You can define Zero Speed for your system using the RPM value you choose as appropriate.

    Zero Speed Applications
To use the ESS to detect something stopping, the unit is set to the Underspeed mode. The user then defines zero speed for the application. The typical definition is one (1) RPM. How many RPM is considered zero speed can be chosen by the user. The ESS can also be used to detect the start of rotation as well if the unit is set to Overspeed. Then if the unit achieves one (1) RPM (or whatever value the user choses) the ESS will send out a signal to indicate that rotation has started.
